Dr. Cole Allen

Dr. Cole Allen was born and raised right here in Reno. After graduating from North Valleys High School, he received his bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno. During his time there, Dr. Allen was a member of the pre-optometry club, and one of the first guest speakers was none other than Dr. Troy Ogden. This first meeting led to a little over a year of shadowing, which solidified a love of helping people look and see their best while building great relationships within the community. 

Following graduation in 2019, Dr. Allen followed Dr. Ogden's footsteps and moved cross country to attend The Ohio State University College of Optometry, where he received his Doctor of Optometry in 2023. While in school, Dr. Allen did rotations with the Southern Arizona VA hospital in Tucson and Athens Eye Care in Athens, Ohio, gaining experience treating patients of all ages while managing diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, treating eye infections, and fitting both soft and specialty contact lenses. 

Dr. Allen was excited about the opportunity to take his talents back home to Reno and come full circle to join the team at Downtown Vision. While not at the office, Dr. Allen enjoys cheering on the Wolf Pack and the Buckeyes, homebrewing, playing guitar, and working on projects around the house.
