Dr. Ed Angelini – Out of Retirement And Better Than Ever

He’s the glue that keeps us together. The bread to our PB&J. The Yoda to our Jedi. Dr. Ed Angelini started our practice over 45 years ago and has been with us since the beginning! Growing up in the Bronx, he moved to Reno, NV when he was 16. He got his undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada and received his doctorate in Optometry from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. After earning his doctorate, he returned to Reno and started this very practice!

Over the past four decades, Dr. Angelini has built a practice that feels like family. He endearingly calls many patients “kiddo”, a term that humors his more senior patients. He’s been known to see patients ranging from 9 months old to 102 years young, and has even been the family eye doctor for five generations of the same family! That’s why, when he announced his retirement in March 2018, we felt like we were saying goodbye to one of our own family members.

But like Michael Jordan, Yogi Berra, and all the other legends, Dr. Angelini’s retirement has been short-lived. He’ll continue to see patients a few days a month over the next couple of years. It seems he just missed you all too much.

Heavily invested in how Downtown Vision grows, he has always been dedicated to bringing in the latest and greatest in technology, frames/lens choices, and contacts, all with the over-arching goal to make Downtown Vision the most comfortable, accurate, and enjoyable eye care experience.
